Paper Phenomenon $1 box challenge

This was a challenge done for Paper Phenomenon's ning website. The challenge was to take a $1 box from Michael's and jazz it up with anything shabby chic. We also had to make a micro mini out of 1 piece of 8.5x11 piece of paper. I went with a spring birdie shabby chic type box. I created the little birds nest that is on top with the little birdie egg and feathers. Around the sides and back, I put ribbon flowers and fiber type ribbon, so it looks like the birds are hiding their nest in a bush. Tiny flowers where created using Kathy's ustream tutorial. The charm dangle has a glass bird sitting atop a glass egg and Swarvoski beads. I also clipped the clasp of the dangle to a mini bulldog clip, then clipped the bulldog clip to the elastic of the box. It helps to pull the elastic off and on the knob. I would really appreciate comments on this little box cause I worked really hard on it and I love how it came out. Thank you to Kathy for the chance to be in this challenge, I really had a lot of fun doing it.

Paper bag album... My first video!!

Ok, it's been awhile since my last post, sorry guys. Anyways, I finally got my first video put up on youtube! YAY!! It's also my very first paper bag album. I didn't do anything special to it, just plain and simple. I made it for a fellow crafter in a swap and she said she loved it. It's based on the Twilight movies cause she loves anything Bella. So the album has nothing but pics of Bella or pics with Bella in them. There's 17 small tags and 5 larger tags that go inside the bag. All the tags have blank backsides so she can put her own pics or do some Twilight journaling. I also made a matching box that she can keep the mini in. That's what the last pic in the video is. Oh and you can't see it in the pics, but all the papers I used have a metallic shimmer to them. Hope you guys like it!

Getting 2 know me!

Alright, so I thought I'd give this blogging thing a try. It seems like just one giant never ending journal, right? Well I can do that! So here it goes...

I'm 31 years old and I love to do all kinds of crafts. I've been sewing since I was about 11 years old and consider that to be my specialty. I love to sew! I can sew just about anything and everything. The more challenging it is for me the more funner it is! I don't really like to recreate things cause they tend to get boring for me. But I will recreate something if someone asks me to, it's no problem. I also love to make bags, purses, and totes! I love a good bag, who doesn't!?!

Other crafts I do, let's see... Embroidery, drawing, crocheting, knitting, beading, (I actually used to be a beading instructor for Michael's in tell they got rid of their classes, which just sucks) I like to tinker with polymer clay, plastic canvas, and photography. Most everything I create is my own and I love to make my own patterns for everything. I get a lot of my ideas from just walking and looking around at different objects. It's a little crazy in my head, but it's how I'm able to come up with all my weird creations.

I just got into scrapbooking, thanks to a friend in Australia. I gave the regular 12x12's a try, but I just don't like the fact that there's not to much interaction with them. So, I guess I love the fact that I can now call myself a mini girl. I love the mini's! There is lots of interaction with them and there is really no end to them. If they are made just right, you could find new things in one mini every time you look through it.

So... I guess that's about it! There's a little bit of everything about me in just these few paragraphs. That's it for now, I just hope I'm able to continue with this blog. HA! We'll see!
